Position: Farmers' Market Honey Associate

Location: Charlottetown, PEI

Job Type: Part-time (with opportunity for growth)

About Us: Canoe Cove Honey is a local honey producer based in Mount Stewart PEI, specializing in high-quality, sustainably produced honey.  Our stand at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market is where the buzz is, and we're on the lookout for a dynamic individual to join our team.

Job Summary: Have a taste for honey and a flair for sales? We want to add a friendly and motivated Honey Associate to join our team at the farmers' market. The ideal candidate has an interest in local agriculture, natural products, and excellent customer service. This role involves selling honey, providing product information, and turning casual browsers into devoted fans.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and answer questions about our honey and its production
  • Handle sales transactions with ease (and troubleshoot when technology goes awry)
  • Maintain a clean and organized stand
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking as needed
  • Promote our honey and its benefits to customers

Requirements:

  • A confidant and friendly demeanour
  • The ability to engage with customers
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (a box of honey is no joke)
  • Availability to work on market days - Saturdays throughout the year, Wednesdays during the summer. 8:30am - 2:30pm
  • Access to reliable transportation to and from the market

Experience:

  • Previous experience in retail or sales is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of honey, beekeeping, or local agriculture is a plus
